Of course, Courteney Cox's Cougar Town goes for the laughs via the singles scene. This has the makings of a pretty hilarious Wednesday night lineup.

Drama-wise, there were some pretty cool, original concepts. The Forgotten is like a police show without the police. Eastwick looks super slick and FlashForward is oh-so-compelling. We should all be a little scared of every person on Shark Tank. And I, personally, am bummed that we have to hold out until November for V. But from what I can tell, it'll absolutely be worth the wait!

Later,
Jim

avatar_boy.jpg

V!

Have you all seen the preview?! OMG, I remember watching this way back when and this version looks so much better. Ok, granted I don't remember much of the old series expect that I loved it then and from what I've seen and heard from the panel I'm gonna love it now. It's lizard aliens and spaceships mixed in with what camp do you fall in: blind devotion and hopefulness or skepticism and a sense that we're all on our own. What camp do you side with?!

PLUS, it's got Elizabeth Mitchell, Morris Chestnut and Morena Baccarin, who is beautiful btw, and Scott Wolf!

I CANNOT wait till 11/3!

165x300_press-tour_vvv_elizabeth-mitchell.jpg

avatar_girl.jpg

"V" LOOKS VABULOUS!

As a die hard fan of the original V, I was cautiously optimistic when I heard ABC was reviving the story. After watching the trailer, my optimism is no longer cautious. The show looks awesome!

In a nutshell, a bunch of enormous alien motherships position themselves over all the major cities on Earth. Before everyone goes running to Hiding Springs, Wyoming, the jaw-droppingly beautiful alien leader, Anna (played by the jaw-droppingly beautiful Morena Baccarin), says they mean us no harm. Whew! That's was close!

Of course, you and I know there's way more to the story. These are aliens with an agenda. One of our favorite leading ladies of Lost, Elizabeth Mitchell, plays Homeland Security agent, Erica Evans. If you thought she was rockin' on the island, wait till you see her in action on the mainland as a visitor resistor who literally tries to save the planet.

FYI - For all you Losties, Elizabeth mentioned that she may be heading back to Hawaii to do some filming. Think that means there's hope for Juliet?

As far as the V vibe in the room, it was a rockin' one! Can't wait for the premiere, Tuesday, November, 3rd on ABC!

165x137_pressTour_v.jpg

avatar_boy.jpg

WICKED FUN!

When I saw Eastwick listed on today's schedule, I had an inkling of what to expect, as I was a pretty big fan of the movie. But we were all assured that the TV series has its own contemporary spin happening.

At least, I think that's the deal. Sorry, but it was pretty hard to concentrate on what was being said by the panel. There were just too many beautiful women up on stage!

The ladies of Eastwick include: Rebecca Romijn, Lindsay Price, Jaime Ray Newman and Sara Rue. Paul Gross plays the seemingly sinister Darryl, who comes to town right around the same time all the mysterious powers of the the main characters are unleashed. Coincidence? No way.

The show looks super slick and the cast is beyond charismatic. I'm thinking this one is gonna be a wicked good time!

165x137_pressTour_esw.jpg

avatar_boy.jpg

Paul is One Lucky Dude

Wow, that Eastwick panel was quite hot. The ladies were all lovely (Lindsay Price was wearing the best strappy heels!) but for me, it was Paul Gross who stole the show. He cut his hair and he is so haaanndd-some in person! While in LA he's learning to surf so I guess I'll be hanging by the beach for the rest of the weekend.

Ladies, Paul admits he's a "slightly different devil" from the Jack Nicholson version and I can't wait to find out how. Who else is in?!
165x137_pressTour_esw.jpg

avatar_girl.jpg

Cougar Moments

I'm a fan of Bill Lawrence and Scrubs so I'm so glad to see he has something else that'll be on - Cougar Town!

Couple funny moments from the panel:
- Bill admitting that the opening, in-front-of-the-mirror scene is loosely based on something his wife Christa Miller did after the birth of their baby
- Bill saying "My wife is up here." and Ian Gomez waving "Here I am!"
- As Bill is talking about the show's premise and saying "My wife and I are both in our 40s," Christa mouthing the words "No, I'm not."

I can only imagine what happens in the writing room!
165x300_press-tour_cgt_christa-miller.jpg

avatar_girl.jpg

TUMMY TIME!

So, I guess one of the most surprising tidbits we got about Cougar Town is that those scrunchy belly shots we've been seeing in clips is really Courteney Cox tweaking her own tummy. I love that she did that, but I'm even more impressed that she admitted it! She says that's something she really does.

Courteney is someone we've all been watching via her TV characters for such a long time. So to see that she's so cool in real life is, well, so cool.

I wasn't sure I'd latch onto a show about 40-something women looking for love with younger men. But from what I saw, Cougar Town is flat-out funny. And if Courteney keeps tweaking her tummy, I think we're headed for some big belly laughs.
165x300_press-tour_cgt_courteney-cox.jpg

avatar_boy.jpg

Christian Slater is Unforgettable

Hah, Jerry Bruckheimer just said he's going to make Christian Slater "work hard for his money!" He also added that Christian will be a "fantastic addition to the cast." Of course, how could he not?! I've always had a little crush on Christian from back in the day and to hear him say that he loves mysteries (me too!) and that he reads Nancy Drew to his kids, well, my crush has gotten that much bigger. Sold, I'm in!
165x300_press-tour_tfn_christian-slater.jpg

avatar_girl.jpg

FORGOTTEN MOMENTS

Someone asked how The Forgotten is different from the other procedural police dramas out there. Well, the simple answer we heard is that the detective work is done by amateurs.

Creator Mark Freidman says that some people who investigate these "John/Jane Doe" cases are called "Doenuts." But based on the clip I saw, I think it's gonna be pretty cool to see these "ordinary" people doing an extraordinary thing. Each character is driven by a different personal story, but they are all united by their compassion for these unidentified crime victims. They are the last chance these people have.

I actually think this looks like a fresh entry in the crime drama genre. When's the last time you saw an investigation based in someone's living room?
165x137_pressTour_tfn.jpg

avatar_boy.jpg

FLASH OF COOLNESS

So, the people behind FlashForward are cool. They don't like spoilers either. They're being peppered with questions about what's gonna happen with this, what's gonna happen with that. To all of which, they are being politely, and creatively, evasive. Love it!

Kudos to the producers and cast for doing the right thing here today. They did tell us one tidbit: Many of the questions that were posed in the pilot WILL be answered by the end of the season. Not all, but probably enough to keep us all happy.

165x137_press-tour_flf_joseph-fiennes.jpg

avatar_boy.jpg
