I loved Dana Delany as the mysterious and cold Katherine Mayfair and rival to Bree Hodge in Desperate Housewives. In Body of Proof Dana Delany fires up an attitude! Her character is brilliant and driven by anger and a troubled past and is struggling to repair her relationship with her daughter. She solves mysteries by uncovering finite details on the bodies of her victims to reveal stories about the person's life and does so in a manner that often conflicts with her colleagues and boss Kate Murphey played by Jeri Ryan.
I have fond memories of watching my Mom's favorite show Quincy M.E. starring Jack Klugman as the grouchy Dr. R. Quincy in the 80's. Body of Proof kicks it up a notch and modernizes the medical mystery by offering a lead female character who on the surface is intelligent, confident, demands respect and is willing to stand up to authority. On the inside Dr. Hunt is struggling with her losses; an accident that took her career, her marriage and the loss of a relationship with her daughter. Dany Delany does an amazing job with this multi-dimensional character that has a hint of softness but snaps to rigidness to keep the respect of her colleagues.
